When I was growing up, I took years of formal piano lessons. I learned how to read music, practiced scales, and prepared for recitals - but over time, the process started to feel rigid and disconnected from the music I actually loved. Eventually, I picked up an acoustic guitar and started lessons with a teacher who did something completely different.
That’s when it clicked.
Instead of handing me a method book, he’d ask, “What have you been listening to?” We’d scroll through my iPod, pick a song, and learn some version of it right there in the lesson.
That shift changed everything. I practiced more. I progressed faster. Music felt exciting again. That experience planted the seed for what would eventually become Loop Music Academy…

The Loop Guitar Launchpad
The Loop Guitar Launchpad Program is a 45-minute, once-a-week after-school program designed for beginner guitar students in elementary and middle school.
In Launchpad, students learn more songs per week than in a traditional lesson, develop strong fundamentals through real music, and build the confidence to play independently. All learning happens with the instructor, so practice at home is simple, productive, and stress-free.
What Students Can Expect:
Learn recognizable songs and riffs
Spend more time actually playing guitar
Learn everything in class, making practice simple at home
Progress at an individual pace within a small group
Build confidence with chords, rhythm, and full songs
Develop a strong musical ear to learn new songs independently
